19 .Tune 2000
AGE-NC Project No 95-0103 '
3 1 GROUND WATER ELEVATION
The ground water elevations were calculated by subtracting the depths to ground water from the
surveyed well casing elevations (Table 1)
Ground water elevation increased approximately 2 98 feet between the December 1999 and Apnl
2000 monitoring events The upper surface of the saturated zone on the site appears to slope toward `
` the south and southeast(toward wells MW-5 and MW-4)
' Monitoring well MW-1 has been slow to recharge during sampling events and continually
demonstrates a lower ground water elevation value The well may not be responding properly to
changing ground water elevations, therefore'the ground water elevation value for well MW-1 has
' been omitted from the ground water gradient and flow model Figure 3 depicts the ground water E
elevation contours at the site
3 2 HYDROCARBON-IMPACTED GROUND WATER
Eight water samples were analyzed by MAI
• TPH-g was detected in samples from monitoring wells MW-1, MW-3, MW-4, MW-,5, and
vapor wells VE-1 and VE-6 at concentrations of 3,000 microgram per liter(µg/1), 7,700µg/l,
17,000,ug/l, 1,000µg/l, 1,700 µg/1 and 10,000µg/1, respectively
• The greatest concentrations of hydrocarbons as gasoline were detected at the location of well
' MW-4 and toward the west to the location of VE-6
' Benzene was detected In five of the water samples at concentrations ranging from 58 µg/l'
in well VE-1 to 4,300 µg/1 in well MW-4 The most significant concentrations of toluene,
ethylbenzene and xylene were detected In the water samples collected from wells MW-4 and,
' vapor well VE-6
• MTBE was detected In the water sample from well MW-1 at a concentration of 14 µg/1
DIPE was detected In the water samples from wells MW-3, MW-5 and vapor wells VE-1 and
' VW-6, at concentrations as great as 66µg/1
• EDB and 1,2 DCA were not detected above laboratory reporting limits`in any of the ground
' water samples analyzed
' The analytical results of current and previous monitoring well samples are summarized in Tables ,
2 and 3 The laboratory report of the current ground water sampling data(MAI sample ID Numbers
34917, through 34924), quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) data and chain-of-custody I
farm are included in Appendix B
Advanced GeoEmironmental Inc
, 2
,
