AGE-NC Project No 95-0103 <br /> Page 2 of 4 <br /> 2 2 ' GROUND WATER SAMPLE COLLECTION <br /> Water samples were retrieved from each purged well using new disposable bailers The samples were <br /> ' transferred into 40-m1 EPA-approved volatile organic analysis (VOA) vials containing 0 5 ml <br /> hydrochloric acid (18%) as a sample preservative The samples were transported in a chilled <br /> container under cham-of-custody to McCampbell Analytical, Inc (MAI) a state-certified laboratory <br /> in Pacheco, California for chemical laboratory analyses-Samples were analyzed for <br /> • Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) in accordance with EPA <br /> ' Method 8015 Modified, <br /> • Volatile aromatic compounds benzene,toluene,ethyl-benzene and total xylenes(BTEX)and <br /> methyl-tert-butyl ether(MTBE),in accordance with EPA Method 8020 and <br /> • Oxygenating fuel additives tertiary butyl alcohol (TBA), dl-isopropyl ether(DIPE), MTBE, <br /> ethyl tertiary butyl ether(ETBE) and tertiary amyl methyl ether(TAME)in accordance with <br /> ' EPA Method 8260 Modified <br /> ' 3.0 FINDINGS <br /> ' Analytical data from water analysis are presented below and in Tables 2 through 3 Copies of the <br /> field measurements and laboratory reports are included in Appendices A and B <br /> t <br /> ' 3 1 GROUND WATER ELEVATION <br /> ' The ground,water elevations were calculated by subtracting the depths to ground water from the <br /> surveyed well casing elevations (Table 1) <br /> Ground water elevation decreased approximately 0 38 feet between September and December 1999 <br /> 1 The upper surface of the saturated zone on the site appears to be toward the north west (well MW-3 <br /> and MW-6) There is an apparent ground water ridge on the northern portion of the property near , <br /> well MW-1 Due to this ridge of ground water surface, the upper ground water south of well MW-1 <br /> appears to be directed toward the south <br /> Figure 3 depicts the ground water elevation contours at the site <br /> Advanced CeoEnvironmental,Inc <br /> 1 <br />
