i27 February 2003 AGE-NC Project No 95-0103 Page 5 of 7 During the fourth quarter 2002, an estimated 1 12 lbs of benzene and 31 9 lbs of TPH-g were extracted from ground water Fourth quarter 2002 mass-volume calculations from the ground water treatment system are presented to Appendix C ' 3 2 GROUND WATER MONITORING RESULTS ' Field and laboratory analytical results of the 09 January 2003 monitoring event include 3 2 1 Ground Water Elevations and Gradient Depth to ground water ranged from 14 41 to 15 45 feet below the top of the well casings The ' ground water elevations ranged from 9 33 (MW-6) to 9 71 feet (MW-4) below sea level Ground water elevation increased approximately 0 3 feet between the September 2002 and January 2003 • monitoring events (Table 1) The ground water- flow direction was inferred d to be southeast at a gradient of appy axrnately ' 0 003 ft/ft The ground water elevation contours are depicted in Figure 3 ' 322 Analytical Results of Ground Water Samples TPH-g was detected in the ground water samples from monitoring wells 1\4W-3 and MW-4 at ' concentrations of 2,200 gg/l and 980 gg/l, respectively Various BTEX compounds were detected in ground water samples MW-3 and MW-4,benzene was detected in sample MW-4 at a concentration of 50 gg/l, and ethylbenzene and total xylenes were detected In sample MW-3 at concentrations of 17 lig/1 and 2 2 gg/l, respectively ' The fuel additive MTBE was detected in sample MW-4 at a concentration of 10 µg/l No other target analyteswere detected in the samples analyzed The analytical results of current and ' previous monitoring well samples are summarized in Tables 2 and 3 The l ibui tiory i eport of the current ground water sampling data (CalTech IDs 0301-027-1 to -5), quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) data and chain-of-custody form are included in Appendix D ' 4.0.
