10 May 1999
.. AGE-NC Project No. 95-0103
• Volatile aromatic compounds (benzene, toluene, ethyl-benzene and total xylenes: BTEX) in
accordance with EPA method 8020.
2.4. DISPOSAL OFPURGED GROUND WATER
On 31 March 1999, approximately 600 gallons of previously purged ground water were collected
by Nor Cal Oil of Turlock, California for final disposal at a licenced treatment facility. A copy of
the generators manifest are included in Appendix D.
_ 3.0. FINDINGS
Field measurements and laboratory reports are presented below and in Tables 1 through 5. Copies
of the field measurements and laboratory reports are included in Appendices A, B and C.
3.1. RELATIVE GROUND WATER ELEVATION
— The ground water elevations were calculated by subtracting the depths to ground water from the
surveyed well casing elevations (Table 1). Ground water elevation increased approximately 1.04 feet
between December 1998 and March 1999. The upper surface of the saturated zone on the site
appears to have a depression on the northern portion of the property (Figure 3) near well MW-1; a
ground water high was again noted in the vicinity of monitoring well MW-4. Ground water flow on
the site is toward MW-1.
3.2. ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
TPH-g was detected in samples from wells MWA, MW-3, MW-4 and vapor well VE-6 at
concentrations of 680 micrograms per liter(ug/1). 6,300µg11, 500µg/l and 4,800 µg19, respectively.
Benzene was detected in ground water samples collected from wells MW-1, MW-3, MW-4 and
_ vapor well VE-6 at concentrations of 4.9 µg/1, 86 µgll, 65 µg/l and 200 µg11, respectively.
Benzene was not detected in samples from wells MW-2, MW-5, or MW-6. Other BTE&X
compounds were detected in samples MWA, MW-3 , MW-4 and vapor well VE-6 at concentrations
as high as 450 µg/l.
Petroleum hydrocarbons were not detected in the samples collected from wells MW-2 and MW-6.
Advanced Geu£nvironmental,Inc.
