LWORK PLAN <br /> FOR BOREHOLE DRILLING AND SOIL SAMPLING } <br /> PHASE 1 <br /> SHELDON OIL COMPANY STOCKTON FACILITY <br /> STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA <br /> f This work plan has been prepared by Brown and Caldwell Consultants (BCC) for Sheldon <br /> I L Oil Company (Sheldon) to install fourteen boreholes at the Sheldon Stockton facility located at <br /> Miner Street and Highway 99, Stockton, California (site). <br /> The workplan will be submitted to Sheldon Oil and the San Joaquin County Department <br /> of Environmental Health (County) for review and approval. Before commencing work at the site, <br /> Lall necessary permits will be acquired from the County, and Underground Services Alert will be <br /> notified. <br /> I <br /> L The work :plan describes the purpose and scope of the Phase 1 investigation. Appendix A <br /> provides a description of BCC's standard operating procedures for the work proposed. <br /> PURPOSE <br /> The purpose of the Phase 1 investigation at the site is to begin to define the lateral and <br /> vertical extent of petroleum hydrocarbons in soil beneath the site. Petroleum hydrocarbons were <br /> L found in soil at the site during recent excavation activities. The Phase 1 work will be in close <br /> proximity to the existing excavation, and any permanent installations will be destroyed by <br /> subsequent excavation. The Phase 1 work will help determine where to place permanent <br /> L groundwater monitoring wells and additional soil borings: <br /> L SCOPE <br /> I <br /> The scope sof this investigation will include: (1) acquisition of permits for installation of soil <br /> boreholes and four temporary groundwater monitoring wells, (2) installation and sampling of the <br /> soil boreholes and installation of the temporary groundwater monitoring wells, and . <br /> L (3) coordination of soil disposal and abandonment of the soil borcholes and temporary monitoring <br /> wells. <br /> �F <br /> 760 3•,REPORTS S HELDO`MP <br />
