3 0 CONCLUSIONS, RECOMMENDATIONS AND PROJECT STATUS
Between March 26, and June 6, 2003, the groundwater surface beneath the site dropped an
average of 2 09 feet, the groundwater flow direction remained consistently toward the northwest,
and the groundwater gradient increased from 0 0015 to 0 0026 foot/foot
Between March 26, and June 6, 2003, the concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons detected in
groundwater, including TPH-as-diesel, TPH-as-gasoline and BTEX compounds, remained
relatively consistent The oxygenate compounds and 1,2-DCA continued to be below laboratory
detection limits Since the three monitoring wells were installed in December 2000, the
concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons in groundwater have generally declined, probably in
response to source removal and natural attenuation processes
As shown on Figures 4, 5, and 6, the lateral extent of impacted groundwater at the groundwater
table is mostly defined for TPH-as-diesel, undefined for TPH-as-gasoline, and fully defined for
benzene Impacted groundwater appears to be concentrated beneath the former USTs and to
the west and northwest (i e , downgradient) of the former USTs
toOn May 8, 2003, Ramage Environmental published Work Plan, Additional Site Investigation and
Groundwater Monitoring Report, First Quarter 2003 EHD approved the work plan on June 3,
2003 Currently, implementation of the approved scope of work is pending cost pre-approval by
the UST Cleanup Fuad
9
