i 3.0 CONCLUSIONS, RECOMMENDATIONS AND PROJECT STATUS
Between June 8, and September 18, 2001, the groundwater surface beneath the site dropped
an average of 2 92 feet, the groundwater flow direction shifted approximately 30 degrees to the
northwest, and the groundwater gradient remained relatively constant Concentrations of
petroleum hydrocarbons including TPH-as-diesel, TPH-as-gasoline and BTEX compounds also
tremained relatively constant between June and September 2001 The oxygenate compounds
and 1,2-DCA continued to be below laboratory detection limits
Results of the sensitive receptor survey identified three water wells in the site vicinity, as close
as 1,000-feet from the site Given the absence of MTBE and the depth of the water wells, these
receptors do not appear to be threatened by the petroleum hydrocarbons in groundwater
beneath the site However, the extent of impacted groundwater beneath the site remains
undefined
Based on these conclusions and the directive of PHS/EHD, Ramage Environmental published
' Work Plan, Additional Site Investigation, dated July 16, 2001 PHS/EHD approved the work plan
on July 25, 2001 Currently, access to the city of Manteca bike path right-of-way to advance two
' of the proposed soil borings is pending a gate in the fence and a permit from the city
1
1
10
