•! 4.0 CONCLUSIONS, RECOMMENDATIONS AND PROJECT STATUS
1
Due to seasonal rainfall conditions since the three on-site wells were last monitored and sampled
' in December 2000, the groundwater surface beneath the site rose an average of 0 86 feet, and
the groundwater gradient and flow direction remained constant Concentrations of petroleum
' hydrocarbons including TPH-as-diesel, TPH-as-gasoline and BTEX compounds also remained
relatively constant between December 2000 and March 2001 The oxygenate compounds and
1,2-DCA continued to be below laboratory detection limits
' Results of the sensitive receptor survey identified three water wells in the site vicinity, as close as
p Y Y,
' 1,000-feet from the site Given the absence of MTBE and the depth of the water wells, these
receptors do not appear to be threatened by the petroleum hydrocarbons in groundwater beneath
the site However, the extent of impacted groundwater beneath the site remains undefined
' Based on these conclusions Ramage Environmental recommends that additional environmental
' corrective actions be completed at the site Prior to proceeding with the additional corrective
actions, PHSIEHD had requested in their letter dated May 16, 2000, that the interested parties
meet to discuss the site information and to prioritize the work relative to five other county sites In
the meantime, Ramage Environmental recommends that the on-site wells be monitored and
sampled on a quarterly basis The next groundwater monitoring is scheduled for June 2001
1
' 10
