Eckert Cold Storage Company
757 Moffat Blvd, Manteca, California April 26, 2000
Quarterly Groundwater Sampling Report, March 2000 Page: 2
analyzed using EPA method 524.2. The laboratory analytical data, chain of custody
report, and QA/QC documents can be found in Appendix A of this report
Groundfvater Gradient
The water level measurements from monitoring wells MW-4, MW-6, and MW-7 were
' used to calculate the gradient and construct a groundwater gradient map (Figure 3). The
gradient for this quarter is N26°W at 0.0026 ft/ft. Historical gradient maps are included
in Appendix C. The groundwater elevation at the site has risen since last quarter by an
' average of 0.81 feet across the site.
' Summary of Analytical Findings
This quarter contaminants were detected in MW-1, MW-3, MW-4, MW-6 and MW-8
(See Table A). All other wells were not sampled during this event.
Table A: Tabular Summary of Groundwater Analytical Data
1
3127/00 Benzene Toluene E-Benzene Xylene MTBE Diesel Gasoline
Well u u u u ug/.L..m m
MW-1 :750 . ; .;, i 10.
MW-3 :.60 7 .. :,.84 : .. 34 ND ND 6
MW-4 1 0.. .:. . .....:: 6 3. ::. 1 6`. 1 - 3 7::. ND
c' ion is resent this quarter at levels significantly below the maximum
MTBE contamination p
allowable (35 ug[L) set by the State of California for the second consecutive quarter. The
levels of Toluene, Ethyl-benzene, Xylene, Gas, and Diesel are also below the State
MCL's for the second consecutive quarter. Benzene is the only chemical that has been
above its respective MCL.
s The analysis of the water from the on-site domestic well did not reveal the presence of
contamination. All of the constituents tested using EPA method 524.2 were not detected
at or above the reporting limits.
WIC'will continue to sample the monitoring wells on a quarterly basis. On April 3, 2000
r WHF submitted a work plan to San Joaquin County Public Health Services,
Environmental Health division. This future work will be used to define the lateral and
vertical extent of groundwater and soil contamination underlying the subject property.
1
j'
