• 20 May 2004 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 98-0521 <br /> Page 6of9 <br /> 3 3 GROUND WATER ELEVATION, FLOW DIRECTION AND GRADIENT <br /> 3r1 Quarter 2003 <br /> On 18 September 2003,the depth to ground water at the site ranged from 7 55 to 8 94 feet below the <br /> tops of the well casings The ground water elevations at the site ranged from 7 64 feet (MW-5) to <br /> 8 61 feet (MW-2) below mean sea level (MSL) The ground water flow was directed toward the <br /> northeast with a hydraulic gradient calculated to be 0 009 foot/foot Depth to water and ground water <br /> elevation are summanzed in Table 1 Figure 4 illustrates the contoured ground water elevations <br /> 4`h Quarter 2003 <br /> On 24 December 2003,the depth to ground water at the site ranged from 6 10 to 8 26 feet below the <br /> tops of the well casings The ground water elevations at the site ranged from 6 19 feet (MW-5) to <br /> 7 93 feet (MW-2) below mean sea level (MSL) The ground water flow was directed toward the <br /> northeast with a hydraulic gradient calculated to be 0 009 foot/foot Depth to water and ground water <br /> elevation are summarized in Table 1 Figure 5 illustrates the contoured ground water elevations <br /> • 3 4 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES <br /> Monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-4 are screened through first ground water, monitoring well <br /> MW-5 is screened through a deeper water zone <br /> 3'Quarter 2003 <br /> Monitoring wells MW-I through MW-4 are screened through first ground water, monitoring well <br /> MW-5 is screened through a deeper water zone The results of the July and September 2003 <br /> sampling and monitoring events are as follows <br /> • TPH-g and TPH-d were detected in the sample collected from monitoring well MW-5 dunng <br /> the July preliminary sampling event at concentrations of 94 micrograms per liter(µg/1) and <br /> 75 µg11, respectively In addition, benzene, ethylbenzene, total xylenes and MTBE were <br /> detected in the same sample at concentrations of 0 79 µg11, 14 gg/l, 5 3 µg/1 and 2 0 µg/l, <br /> respectively Other target analytes were not detected in sample MW-5 collected during July <br /> 2003 <br /> • During the September 2003 sampling and monitoring event, TPH-g was detected in the <br /> sample collected from well MW-4 at a concentration of 8,700 gg/l TPH-d was detected in <br /> samples collected from wells MW-4 and MW-5 at concentrations of 2,400 gg/1 and 56 gg/l, <br /> respectively However,the lab report indicates that gasoline range compounds are significant <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br />
