pl � <br /> 20 May 2004 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 98-0521 <br /> Page 3 of 9 <br /> tertiary-amyl methyl ether (TAME), tertiary butanol (TBA), ethanol, methanol, <br /> 1,2-dibromoethane (EDB) and 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA) in accordance with EPA <br /> Method 8260B <br /> 2 15 Monitoring Well Development/Preliminary Sampling Event <br /> On 24 July 2003,monitoring well MW-5 was developed utilizing a 2-Inch steel bailer and a Waterra <br /> Inertial pump equipped with 518" tubing and a check valve Approximately seven casing-water <br /> volumes of water(50 gallons)were purged from well MW-5 Purged water was stored in 55-gallon <br /> DOT-approved drums on-site <br /> Following well development,the depth to ground water was measured again in MW-5 to ensure that <br /> a minimum of 80%of the initial well volume had recharged A water sample was collected from the <br /> discharge tube in well MW-5 The sample was transferred Into three 40-ml volatile organic analysis <br /> (VOA)vials containing 0 5 ml hydrochloric acid(18%)as a sample preservative The samples were <br /> then labeled and placed in a chilled container for transportation under chain-of-custody to MAI and <br /> analyzed as described in Section 2 1 4 <br /> 2 16 Well Head Survey <br /> On 06 April 2004,California state-licensed surveyor Baumbach&Piazza,hic (B&P)surveyed the <br /> elevation at the top of the well casing of monitoring well MW-5 to the nearest 0 01-foot relative to <br /> City of Stockton Bench Mark 4253 at 2 39 feet above mean sea level (msl) The results of the <br /> monitoring well survey are contained in Table 1 The surveying report (B&P) Is presented in <br /> Appendix C <br /> 2 2 WELL MONITORING AND EVACUATION <br /> Quarterly ground water monitoring and sampling for the 3'and 4th quarters of 2003 was conducted <br /> on 18 September 2003 and 24 December 2003, respectively <br /> 3rd Quarter 2003 <br /> i <br /> On 18 September 2003, a Solinst water level meter was used to measure the depth to ground water <br /> in monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-5 relative to the tops of the well casings After water levels <br /> were measured, each well was purged utilizing a disposable bailer or Waterra inertial pump <br /> Approximately 5 5 gallons(a minimum of three casing-water volumes)of water were removed from <br /> Advanced CcoEnvironmental,Inc <br />
