pl � 20 May 2004 AGE-NC Project No 98-0521 Page 3 of 9 tertiary-amyl methyl ether (TAME), tertiary butanol (TBA), ethanol, methanol, 1,2-dibromoethane (EDB) and 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA) in accordance with EPA Method 8260B 2 15 Monitoring Well Development/Preliminary Sampling Event On 24 July 2003,monitoring well MW-5 was developed utilizing a 2-Inch steel bailer and a Waterra Inertial pump equipped with 518" tubing and a check valve Approximately seven casing-water volumes of water(50 gallons)were purged from well MW-5 Purged water was stored in 55-gallon DOT-approved drums on-site Following well development,the depth to ground water was measured again in MW-5 to ensure that a minimum of 80%of the initial well volume had recharged A water sample was collected from the discharge tube in well MW-5 The sample was transferred Into three 40-ml volatile organic analysis (VOA)vials containing 0 5 ml hydrochloric acid(18%)as a sample preservative The samples were then labeled and placed in a chilled container for transportation under chain-of-custody to MAI and analyzed as described in Section 2 1 4 2 16 Well Head Survey On 06 April 2004,California state-licensed surveyor Baumbach&Piazza,hic (B&P)surveyed the elevation at the top of the well casing of monitoring well MW-5 to the nearest 0 01-foot relative to City of Stockton Bench Mark 4253 at 2 39 feet above mean sea level (msl) The results of the monitoring well survey are contained in Table 1 The surveying report (B&P) Is presented in Appendix C 2 2 WELL MONITORING AND EVACUATION Quarterly ground water monitoring and sampling for the 3'and 4th quarters of 2003 was conducted on 18 September 2003 and 24 December 2003, respectively 3rd Quarter 2003 i On 18 September 2003, a Solinst water level meter was used to measure the depth to ground water in monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-5 relative to the tops of the well casings After water levels were measured, each well was purged utilizing a disposable bailer or Waterra inertial pump Approximately 5 5 gallons(a minimum of three casing-water volumes)of water were removed from Advanced CcoEnvironmental,Inc
