• CAMBRIA
Groundwater Depth. During drilling activities, groundwater was observed in boring
SBA at a depth of approximately 59 fbg
Soil Types Soil types encountered in borings SB-1 and S13-2 include clay,
silty clay, silt, clayey silt, cemented sand, and gravelly sand
Another soil type encountered was "stiff fine-grained" which is
a CPT category that does not translate directly into the Unified
Soil Classification System In general, soils beneath the site are
primarily fine-grained (silts and clays) with some coarse-grained
zones (sands) occurring at depths of approximately 35 and 55
fbg Gregg's CPT logs are presented in Appendix B
Chemical Analyses Groundwater and soil samples were analyzed for total
petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg), benzene, toluene,
ethylbenzene, and xylenes (BTEX), MTBE, tertiary amyl methyl
ether(TAME), ethyl tertiary butyl ether(ETBE), tertiary butanol
(TBA), and diisopropyl ether (DIPE) by EPA Method 8260
• Additionally, the groundwater sample was analyzed for
1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA) and 1,2-dibromoethane (EDB) by
EPA Method 8260
HYDROCARBON DISTRIBUTION IN SOIL
TPHg and BTEX were not detected in soil samples collected from borings SB-1 and S13-2
MTBE was detected (by EPA Method 8260) in SBA at concentrations ranging from 0 50 to 4 6
ppm at depths ranging from 25 to 60 fbg No other fuel oxygenates were detected in borings
SB-1 or SB-2
The soil chemical analytical data are summarized in Table 2 and TPHg, benzene, and MTBE
results are presented on Figure 2 The certified analytical report for the soil samples is presented
in Appendix C
0953 3
> n r
