The borings were located
in areas where petroleum constituents had been detected in soil samples collected during excavation and
removal of the former tanks and associated product lines. 'The analytical data from tank basin and product
line samples are presented in Tables 2 and 3. 'fable 4 presents analytical data from the soil boring
Y samples collected on August 8, 1989. Drilling and soil sampling methods and procedures are described
in Section 5.0.
Soil boring SB-7 was!ocated approximately 15 feet from product line sample lz,Ation PL-5(Figure 2)and
was advanced to a total depth of
f 31.5 feet. G er was encountered at a ae th of a raximate!
i !
-afeet below grade. Soil sample PLPS was collected during the tank closure activities at a depth of 4 feet
below the ground surface and contained 1,130.0 parts per million (ppm) total petroleum hydrocarbons
(TPH)as gasoline. Two roil samples from soil boring SB-7 were collected at 11.5 and 26.5 feet below
grade and were submitted for chemical analysis. Chemical results indicated concentrations of T 1J.were
below the detection limit of 0.2 ggm .
Soil boring SB-8 was drilled within 5 feet of tank sample locations TS-2ana TS-6 and was advanced to
a depth of 26.5 feet. Ground water was not encountered. Soil sample TS-2,collected at the base of the
r, PH tank
{ I excavation, approximately 15 feet below the
ground surface, contained 1,030.0 ppm 'rPH. Soil
samples collected from soil boring S13-8 at 16.5 and 26.5 feet.below ground surface contained
concentrations of TPH below thdetection limit of 0.1 ppm,
 j
--

w - - - - - -- —.- - - - ----- ---- - -- ---- - --
a
S
}
E
