1 ' <br /> 15 November 2000 <br /> • AGE-NC Project No 99-0570 <br />' Page 2 of 6 <br />' Soil sample duplicates were visually described in accordance with the Unified Soil Classification <br /> System (see Appendix A) Soil sample duplicates were also screened for the presence of organic <br /> vapor using an organic vapor meter(OVM)equipped with a photo-ionization detector(PID Thermo <br />' Environmental 580A, 10 0 eV, calibrated to isobutylene) The organic vapor readings were recorded <br /> on the boring log <br />' Sampling equipment was washed in an Alconox solution and rinsed with water prior to each <br /> sampling run to avoid cross-contamination <br />' For preservation of each sample, both ends of the leading or other selected sleeve were covered with <br /> Teflon sheets, capped and sealed with tape The samples were labeled, stored on ice and <br /> subsequently transported under chain-of-custody to McCambell Analytical, Inc (MAI), a State of <br />' California Department of Health Services (DHS)-certified analytical laboratory <br /> Auger returns generated by drilling were stored on-site in Department of Transportation (DOT)- <br /> approved 55-gallon drums, pending laboratory analysis <br /> lie 2 2 WELL AND BORING COMPLETION <br />' Borings MWI through MW5 were completed as ground water monitoring wells MW-1 through <br /> MW-5 using two-inch diameter PVC casing with 0 020-inch slotted screen installed from <br /> approximately 10 feet to 25 feet bsg and with blank casing extended to the surface The filter pack <br />' (No 2112 Lonestar sand) was installed from 8 feet to approximately 25 feet bsg in the borings A <br /> 2-foot bentonite-chip seal was installed above the filter pack and hydrated with five gallons of water <br /> The wells were then grouted to near the surface with pord and cement Water-tight, traffic-rated well <br />' boxes were installed over the wells As-built well diagrams are depicted on the boring logs in <br /> Appendix A <br />' 23 SOIL AND GROUND WATER ANALYSIS <br />' A total of eleven soil samples and all ground water samples were analyzed for the following analytes <br /> • Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) and diesel (TPH-d) in <br />' accordance with EPA Method 8015 Modified, <br /> • Volatile aromatic hydrocarbons benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes (BTE&X) <br />' in accordance with EPA Method 8020, and <br /> 1 Advanced CeoEnvironmental,Inc <br />
