The application would split a 57.22 acre parcel into two smaller ones.
The project is located on the southwest corner of State Route 12 and Ray Road, west of
Lodi. The address is 4580 West Highway 12. Our maps place this approximately 7000 feet
northwest of the runway at Kingdon Airport, in the Conical Imaginary surface. The project
site is regularly overflown by aircraft on approach and departure from runway 12/30
The Airport Land Use Plan states that within the conical surface:
"Noise and potential hazard to aircraft are the primary considerations."
"Very tall structures should be evaluated to insure they will not constitute air-
craft hazards." (The conical surface limits towers to 164 feet to 364 feet
depending on location)
"Reflective roofs, visual distractions to pilots, and interference with aircraft
communications and navigation are also primary prohibitions in this area."
The restriction on reflective roofs is designed to prevent a pilot from being blinded by
reflected sunlight during the critical approach and departure phases of flight.
• COUNTY OF SAN JOAQUIN • CITIES OF STOCKTON, LODI, TRACY, MANTECA, ESCALON, RIPON •
