The property is bounded by South Main Street (also re- <br /> ferred to as Manteca Road) on the east, the Highway 120 Manteca Bypass on the <br /> south, a fence and open fields on the west, and houses on the north (see Vicin- <br /> ity Map and Site Plan, Plates 1 and 2 respectively) . <br /> The purpose of the site screening was to assess whether or not hazardous <br /> substances are likely to be present in the soil or groundwater at the site. <br /> This information is required by Bennett Properties, the prospective purchaser <br /> of the property, prior to the closing of the real estate transfer. <br /> f <br /> Our work was performed in accordance with our proposal dated December 7, <br /> 1987, as revised and authorized by Bennett Properties on December 12, 1987. <br />
