STATE OF CALIFORNIA-HEALTH AND WEIFARE AGENCY GEORGE DEUKMEJIAN, Go- r
DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH SERVICES ox,
TOXIC SUBSTANCES CONTROL DIVISION
REGION I
4250 POWER INN ROAD
SACRAMENTO,CA 95826 APRIL 21 , 1989
(916)739.3145
James A. Braziel
Bennett Properties, Inc.
2333 San Ramon Valley Blvd.
Suite 450
San Ramon, CA 94583
Dear Mr. Braziel:
SITE ASSESSMENT, BENNETT PROPERTIES
1163 SOUTH MAIN, MANTECA
We have reviewed the information you have submitted regarding the
subject property in your letters dated January 18 and 20, 1989.
We have also reviewed other documents submitted to the
San Joaquin Local Health District in 1988 . These documents are
listed in the enclosed staff memorandum.
As detailed in the enclosed memorandum, we find that the types
and concentrations of contaminants remaining at those areas of
the site addressed by your clean-up efforts are unlikely to pose
a threat to public health or the environment. However, only
those areas showing visible contamination were investigated and
we cannot conclude that there is no other contamination at the
site.
If, in the course of future activities at this property, you
become aware of or . suspect the presence of additional
contamination not previously characterized, you should
immediately notify this office and the appropriate local
authorities. The Department reserves the right, pursuant to
Chapter 6. 8 of Division 20 of the Health and Safety Code, to
order or carry out additional remedial actions should the
Department obtain additional information regarding contamination
at the site.
We hope that this letter is responsive to your request. Please
contact Harry Sneh of my staff at (916) 920-6368 if you have any
questions or comments.
Sincerely,
ames L.
