For this SOP, completeness is defined as the number of
samples collected compared to the number of samples planned.
9.2 AUDITS AND SCHEDULE
A systems audit consists of an evaluation to determine if the components of the task
have been properly selected so that the task is capable of producing the desired data.
A detailed description of a field systems audit and the reporting requirements are
provided in the QAPP.
A field procedure audit consists of observing and reviewing procedures used in the
field to ensure that they conform with this SOP. The ERM-West, Inc., QA Officer or
designee will perform a field procedure audit while field activities related to this
SOP are in progress. A more detailed description of a field performance audit,
frequency, and the reporting requirements are provided in the QAPP.
9.3 NONCONFORMANCES AND CORRECTIVE ACTION
A nonconformance is a deficiency or improper procedure that renders the quality of
an item unacceptable or indeterminate. An example of a nonconformance related
to this SOP might include collecting a sample in the wrong location.
An example of a corrective action for this nonconformance would be to return to
the correct location and obtain a sample. It is the responsibility of all project staff to
report potential nonconforming items to the Task Leader, Project Manager, or QA
Officer. The QAPP provides a more detailed description of nonconformance and
corrective actions.
