All hand tools will be kept in good repair <br /> and used only for the purposes for which they were designed Wrenches with sprung jaws, <br /> where slippage could occur, impact tools with mushroomed heads, and wooden handled <br /> tools with cracks or splinters are examples of unsafe band tools. <br /> Tools having defects that will impair their strength or render them unsafe wr11 be tagged or <br /> made inoperable and removed from service. <br /> Guards must be in place during operation on all power tools designed to accommodate <br /> them. Guards and safety devices must remain in place on power tools unless removed <br /> according to manufacturer's instruction for maintenance by a competent person and must <br /> be replaced before use.
