Silgan Containers Corporation
1815 Navy Drive, Stockton - 2 - 30 July 2002
monitoring and sampling will be necessary to establish seasonal fluctuations and trends in the
concentration data. The Q2-2002 quarterly monitoring report is due to this office by 31 July 2002.
3. Due to the discrepancy in the groundwater flow direction between the last two sampling events, you
may elect to resurvey the monitoring well locations, and recalculate groundwater elevations and flow
directions.
4. The groundwater monitoring and reporting section of the Investigation Report is incomplete. To allow
a simple review of the data, please include the following items in all future monitoring and sampling
reports submitted to this office:
• Purge data sheets to record water levels, purge volumes,and groundwater parameters;
• Analytical data for all monitoring wells used for this investigation (e.g., include wells GW-3,
PW-1,and PW-2 in Table 3), and show detection limits for constituents that are non-detect
(e.g.,ND<5.0); and
• A complete table with historical depth to water measurements, and calculated water level
elevations.
Please be aware that Article 12 was added to the Underground Storage Tank Regulations corresponding to
Sections 2729 and 2729.1 of the California Code of Regulations requiring Responsible Parties to submit
analytical and site data electronically. Enclosed is our letter(Required Electronic Deliverable Format for
Laboratory and Site Data Submittals to Regulating Agencies), explaining how to obtain information to
implement the requirements. To date we have not received the electronic data for your site. This information
must be submitted as part of all future quarterly groundwater monitoring and sampling reports. Reports
submitted without electronic data will be considered incomplete.
Please contact me at least five business days prior to any site work or sampling to schedule a field inspection
appointment. If you have any questions or comments, please call me at(916)255-3115.
Martyartzell, R.G.
Associate Engineering Geologist
attachment
cc(w/o attch): Ms. Margaret Lagorio, San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department, Stockton
cc(w/attch): Mr. Bob Bennett, Silgan Containers Corporation,Riverbank
Mr. Rick Caporale,Principal Chemist, Enfra LLC,Anaheim
