Silgan Container Corporation - 3 - 22 March 2004
1815 Navy Drive, Stockton, San Joaquin County
Regional Board and SJCEHD staff witnessed well abandonment at Silgan Container Corporation. Well
abandonment was completed on 24 December 2003. A 4 February 2004 Site Closure letter report included a
summary of the monitoring wells abandonment.
Recommendation:
The results of the sensitive receptor survey and the fate and transport modeling showing that no private or
municipal supply wells will be impacted by the c12DCE plume. Quarterly monitoring shows decreasing
concentration trends for c 12DCE in groundwater(Enclosure). As a result of the work conducted at this site, the
threat to water quality, human health and safety, or the environment should continue to decline. Water Quality
Objectives should be reached in a reasonable period of time. Assuming the information provided is correct, then I
recommend that a No Further Action Required letter be issued and all applicable UST databases updated to reflect
site closure.
California Environmental Protection Agency
Qa Recycled Paper
