o- ENVIRONMENTAL
Task 1 - Workplan Preparation
The workplan is a formal document that establishes the methods to be employed in the
implementation of the site assessment.
The workplan will include the following:
o Purpose
o Project Scope
U Location of Soil Boring/Groundwater Monitoring Wells
o Soil/Water Sample Collection Procedures
o Methods of Drilling
O Decontamination Procedures
o Chemical Analyses
o Groundwater Elevation Monitoring
o Facility History
o Project Background
o Site Specific Health and Safety Plan
O Schedule
o Personnel
Task 2 - Field Operations
Following approval of the workplan by the Central Valley Regional Water Quality
Control Board (RWQCB), Thorne Environmental will begin field operations. It is
initially planned to advance three soil borings/groundwater monitoring wells to a depth
of approximately 15 feet. The soil borings will be advanced using a continuous flight
hollow-stem auger. Soil samples will be collected continuously in the vadose zone using
a CME continuous sampler.
Exhibit 1 presents the proposed locations for the soil boring/groundwater monitoring
wells. The soil borings are located to assess the concentration of petroleum compounds
in the soils surrounding the tank excavation, while also being positioned for completion
11/89 Y89-199
