The first round of sampling and analysis that included all four wells was conducted in
f
January 1994 Laboratory analysis of the MW-1 sample found no detectable hydrocarbon
constituents or lead Analysis of the MW-2 sample detected 0 46 mg/l TPH-d, 1.9 mg/1 TPH-g,
0 41 mg/1 benzene, 0 024 mg/l toluene, 0.11 mg/1 ethylbenzene, and 0.059 mg/l xylenes Lead was
not detected. The MW-3 sample analyses showed 0 086 mg/l TPH-d, 0 0.12 mg/1 TPH-g, but no
detectable BTEX constituents or lead. The analyses for the MW-4 sample showed 0.34 mgtI
TPH-d, but no other detectable hydrocarbon constituents or lead No other constituents were
found above the laboratory MDU
The most recent round of sampling and analysis was conducted in April 1994.
Laboratory analysis detected of the MW-1 sample found no detectable hydrocarbon constituents
or lead Analysis of the MW-2 sample detected 0 56 mg/l TPH-d, 17 mg/1 TPH-g, 0 46 mg/l
benzene, 0.015 mg/l toluene, 011 mg/1 ethylbenzene, and 0 048 mg/l xylenes. The MW-3 sample
analyses showed 0 052 mg/1 TPH-d, 0 00057 mg/1 benzene but no other detectable BTEX
constituents The analyses for the 1-. W4 sample showed no detectable hydrocarbon
constituents Lead was not analyzed in this round of analyses No other constituents were
found above the laboratory MDLs. Purging and sampling logs for April 1994 are presented in
Appendix D
The results from this round of sampling and analysis were comparable with those
detected in January 1994 Both the January and April rounds of groundwater analyses showed
roughly an order-of-magnitude decrease in constituent levels compared to those detected prior
to the excavation activities and destruction and sealing of the EMCON wells Drawings 4-1, 4-2,
and 4-3 provide isoconcentration plots of the April 1994 TPH-d, TPH-g, and benzene,
respectively A map illustrating groundwater flow direction and gradient for April 1993 is
included as Drawing 1-3
FAv-Y OSF 4 4-3 92-1177102 36
