Section No 6 <br /> • Revision No 0 <br /> Date September 5, 1991 <br /> Page 21 of 55 <br /> Solid, potentially hazardous waste will be transported to the <br /> decontamination/staging area where it sill be stored in sealed, 55-gallon <br /> metal DOT-approved drums <br /> All containers of potentially hazardous materials generated by purging <br /> and sampling activities will be labeled according to federal, state and local <br /> regulations These materials shall remain the property of the Client, who <br /> will retain responsibility for proper disposal. <br /> 6 4 5 Water Level and FPLH Layer Thickness Measurements <br /> Water levels and Floating Petroleum Liquid Hydrocarbon (FPLH) layer <br /> thickness measurements are to be recorded in a field notebook or on the <br /> appropriate pre-printed MARK field form Specific procedures follow- <br /> 1 Record the pertinent heading information, if necessary. <br /> 2 For each well, record the time and ambient weather data <br /> 3 Unlock the well cover and prepare to measure water levels and FPLH <br /> layer thickness, where appropriate, with an electronic water level <br /> meter (sounder) or with a weighted steel tape <br /> 4 Note the location of the reference notch or marking on the top of <br /> the casing, if any <br /> 5 Measure the water level with an electronic water level meter or with <br /> a weighted steel tape and water finding paste Measure the FPLH <br /> layer thickness, where appropriate, with a weighted steel tape and <br /> water-finding and gas-gauging pastes Repeat the procedure used to <br /> check for error <br /> 6 Record the data on the form <br /> 7 Decontaminate the instrument used by wiping the tape with <br /> disposable, ink-free paper towels, and then according to procedures <br /> described in Section 6 4.4 2 <br /> 6-21 <br />
