20 PURPOSE <br />' This Master Health and Safety Plan has been prepared for all personnel working on <br />' MARK projects to recognize the need to minimize possible causes of accidents This Master <br /> Health and Safety Plan sets forth minimum requirements and procedures Implementation <br />'l <br /> of this Plan by MARK employees should provide safe working conditions, including those <br /> that apply to handling of hazardous materials and operations for remediation of saes <br /> containing hazardous or toxic materials It assigns personnel responsibilities, prescribes <br />' mandatory operating procedures, and establishes personal protective equipment requirements <br /> for most work conditions including those where hazardous or toxic materials may be <br /> encountered <br /> Worker safety and the protection of health are major concerns during project design <br /> as well as during implementation of the work and should not be compromised This Master <br /> Plan describes the responsibilities and requirements of the corporation, its staff and all <br /> MARK subcontractors Work conditions can be expected to vary from site to site These <br /> 'I conditions may require modification of some of the provisions of this Master Plan <br /> F Conditions may also change as work progresses at a particular site Thus, as appropriate, <br /> the Master Plan may be modified only through issuance of addenda to accommodate the <br /> site- and project-specific conditions All such modifications must be reviewed and approved <br /> by the Corporate Health and Safety Officer before issuance and implementation of the <br /> modifications No changes to this Master Health and Safety Plan are allowed without prior <br /> consultation and approval by the Corporate Health and Safety Officer <br /> This Master Health and Safety Plan is a general plan All of its provisions may not <br /> be applicable to every project and work on some projects may pose specific hazards that <br /> 1 <br /> 2-1 REV 4192-EGI <br /> 111 I; <br />
