Advanced
GeoEnvironmental, Inc.
27 December 2004
AGE-NC Project No. 98-0534 it
Ms. Vicki McCartney
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department , f
304 E. Weber Avenue, Third floor `"
Stockton, California 95202 "f
Subject: Site Assessment Work Plan - Revised Addendum
Former MEL BOKIDES PETROLEUM FACILITY
2191 Navy Drive, Stockton, California
Dear Mrs. McCartney:
At the request of Mr.Nick Bokides of Me]Bokides Petroleum,Inc.,Advanced GeoEnvironmental,
Inc.has prepared a revised addendum to the scope of Preliminary Site Assessment Work Plan, dated
15 June 1999 and approved by the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD)
on 08 July 1999. This addendum is a response to concerns expressed in the EHD letter dated
30 November 2004.
The scope of work includes the installation of one depth-discrete ground water monitoring well to
define the vertical extent of dissolved MTBE. The well will be installed at the location of well
MW-6. To insure that a well screen is set within a permeable sediment and in accordance with the
drilling procedures presented in the above-referenced work plan, continuous, relatively undisturbed
soil samples will be collected from the pilot soil boring from 30 feet below surface grade (bsg) to
total depth using a split core barrel.
The pilot boring will be advanced to approximately 50 feet bsg, where an"in situ"grab ground water
sample will be collected with a hydro-punch sampler and analyzed within 24 hours. If the ground
water sample does not contain a detectable concentration of MTBE, a monitoring well will be
established within a permeable zone at that depth utilizing a 5-foot screen. If MTBE is detected, the
pilot boring will be advanced to a maximum depth of approximately 65 feet bsg and the monitoring
well will be established within a permeable zone at that depth.
AGE will procure the permit necessary to install the well. AGE will also notify the EHD 48-hours
prior to any drilling activities.
837 Shaw Road,Stockton, California 95215
Telephone (209) 467-1006 FAX(209) 467-1118
