The <br /> Department hereby approves the ninth and final monitoring report <br /> for the Lika Navy Drive site and terminates the monitoring <br /> requirements stipulated in the certification agreement. <br /> The only activity remaining is the proper decommissioning of <br /> existing wells. Decommissioning of inactive wells is required <br /> pursuant to the San Joaquin County Development Code 9-115 and the <br /> California Health and Safety Code, Section 24400. The San <br /> Joaquin Public Health Services office must be contacted for the <br /> appropriate permits and county requirements. Enclosed is a <br /> Departmental document discussing the most important criteria that <br /> need to be the focus of decommissioning efforts and must be used <br /> in developing the well decommissioning workplan for the <br /> Department ' s review and approval .
