Infurna San Joaquin County Public Health Services Environmental Health Department 304 East Weber Avenue, 3`d Floor Stockton , California 95202-2708 Re: Workplan Amendment for St. Francis Motel(UIC septic) 5708 North Highway 99 Frontage Road,Stockton, California Dear Mr. Infurna: We propose to modify the workplan submitted to your office on May 10, 2005 with the following amendments: (1) We have been informed by Mr. Patel that he wishes to have the old septic tank removed and replaced with a new septic tank. During this process we will obtain a soil sample beneath the former septic tank at a depth of not more than 1 foot below the former base of the septic tank. Prior to abandonment of the current septic tank we will collect a liquid sample of the contents of the septic tank for analysis. The liquid sample will be analyzed using the same protocol previously approved of by your department(USEPA Test Methods 524.2 and 300.0). If the analytical results show the sample to be non-hazardous then we will pump the contents out and dispose of them at the Stockton facility under waste manifest. (2) The lines that provide drainage to the septic tank will be exhumed, identified and inspected to determine if any breaks are present. (3) The lines that provide drainage from the septic tank will be exhumed and identified. These lines will be inspected to see if any breaks are present. Two soil samples will be collected at a depth of not more than 1 foot below at points along the lines where leakage may have occurred. The type of line, diameter and integrity will be determined.
