Priest Road, French Camp. Our maps
show this to be approximately 9, 000 feet north of the runway at
Sharpe Army Airfield and 12, 000 feet southwest of the runway at
Stockton Metropolitan Airport.
The proposal is under the Conical Imaginary surface of Stockton
Metropolitan Airport and the Outer Approach and Climbout Area of
the Federal Military Airfield at Sharpe Army Depot. The area is
frequently overflown by heavy military aircraft using Stockton
Metropolitan Airport for flight training.
The Airport Land Use Plan states that in the Conical Imaginary
surface :
Dumps. 1andFills and water- retention ponds are permitted only if
they do not present a bird ha--a,--d to aircraft. Reflective
me
atr-i a1 s are not per-mi tted to be used in structures or signs to
avoid distracting pilots during the critical approach or,
departure phases of flight. No radio transmi ssi ons are allowed
which would interfere with aircraft communication or navigation
equipment.
The Outer Approach and Climbout Area adds more restrictions:
Because of crash ha--ard in these areas, no land use is pern7i tted
which would result in the ccncentr, ation L)f people. Noise is an
inTportant cons idoration. . . single family residences ar-e allowed
provided they do not result in a concentration of people and
are insulated to 45 dR CNEL inside, C5 dB in sleeping areas.
The Airport Land Use Commission has no direct jurisdiction over the
Sharpe Airfield, although the FAA Part 77 maps still apply. The
Installation Compatible Use Zone ( ICUZ ) plan also applies, and must
be consulted.
• COUNTY OF SAN JOAQUIN • CITIES OF STOCKTON, LODI, TRACY, MANTECA, ESCALON, RIPON
