SOIL BORING WORK PLAN <br /> Yellow Freight System, Inc. <br /> 4520 South Highway 99 <br /> Stockton, CA <br /> The purpose of this plan is to describe the activities to be performed in order to <br /> obtain soil samples for analysis around the perimeter of two 10,000 gallon temporarily out <br /> of use fiberglass diesel fuel storage tanks at the above referenced location. Refer to the <br /> attached site map and tank drawings for more details of the tanks. <br /> The property is temporarily not being utilized by Yellow at this time. The property <br /> was previously used as a freight forwarding and transfer operation for Yellow. <br /> Yellow has contracted with IT Corporation to supervise the drilling and sampling <br /> activities in the event an Environmental Services representative from Yellow cannot be <br /> present. <br /> Spectrum Drilling has been contracted to auger down to a maximum depth,of:200 <br /> ____.__u <br /> �feetFat�four sp i iec f ed_locatis3 The drill rig will use a seven-inch diameter hollow stem <br /> auger. tSoil-samples will be obtai_nedtatyfive,-ten;fifteen;�tnd_twanty-foot-depthsusing+a <br /> split-spoon-sampler. Portions of each sample will be placed in a 500 ml wide mouth jar, <br /> covered with aluminum foil, and set in the shade for twenty minutes. A photoionization <br /> detector (PID) will be used to measure the concentrations of volatile hydrocarbons within <br /> each jar by perforation of the foil with the PID tip. The deepest and/or most contaminated <br /> sample will be submitted to the laboratory for analysis.
