The top of casing elevations are used as references
1 for depth to groundwater measurements to compute groundwater
1 elevations .
1 Product Testing in Exploratory Test Holes and Monitoring Wells
Following the installation of each exploratory test hole and
1 monitoring well, the water was tested for floating hydrocarbons .
1 Product thickness measurements were taken using a tape that was
coated with water and gasoline-seeking pastes.
1
Groundwater Sample Collection
' On March 4, 1988 , water samples were collected from explora-
tory test holes TS-1 through TS-7 and the test hole located along
ithe Southern Pacific right-of-way west of the California Fuels
building designated as SP-3. In addition, premium unleaded and
regular gasoline samples were obtained for constituent analysis.
On March 11 , 1988, water samples were collected from test holes
TS-8 through TS-11 and the two monitoring wells. Samples were
' collected from the test holes using a thief sampler . The moni-
toring wells were bailed with a Teflon bailer with approximately
four well volumes being purged before sample collection. All
samples were labeled, packed on ice, and transported to the
laboratory with the chain-of-custody documentation.
f
L
' - 8 -
