The top of casing elevations are used as references <br /> 1 for depth to groundwater measurements to compute groundwater <br /> 1 elevations . <br /> 1 Product Testing in Exploratory Test Holes and Monitoring Wells <br /> Following the installation of each exploratory test hole and <br /> 1 monitoring well, the water was tested for floating hydrocarbons . <br /> 1 Product thickness measurements were taken using a tape that was <br /> coated with water and gasoline-seeking pastes. <br /> 1 <br /> Groundwater Sample Collection <br /> ' On March 4, 1988 , water samples were collected from explora- <br /> tory test holes TS-1 through TS-7 and the test hole located along <br /> ithe Southern Pacific right-of-way west of the California Fuels <br /> building designated as SP-3. In addition, premium unleaded and <br /> regular gasoline samples were obtained for constituent analysis. <br /> On March 11 , 1988, water samples were collected from test holes <br /> TS-8 through TS-11 and the two monitoring wells. Samples were <br /> ' collected from the test holes using a thief sampler . The moni- <br /> toring wells were bailed with a Teflon bailer with approximately <br /> four well volumes being purged before sample collection. All <br /> samples were labeled, packed on ice, and transported to the <br /> laboratory with the chain-of-custody documentation. <br /> f <br /> L <br /> ' - 8 - <br />
