, 1
SPPL Report memo -2- • 19 May 1989
floating product matched the chromatograms of regular and unleaded
gasoline samples collected directly from the SPPL pipelines at the
Stockton terminal which were used as standards for these analyses.
In conclusion, SPPL has inconclusive evidence that they are not a
source of contamination. The contamination at MW-1, and possibly at
MW-3 , appears to be from on-site sources. SPPL also has pipelines
adjacent to the Time Oil and Tesoro sites which contain regular and
unleaded gasoline, which is the contamination product at those sites.
All pipelines, SPPL's, Time Oil 's, and Tesoro 's, have tested tight.
SPPL needs to investigate all potential contamination sources,
including other pipelines in the Port area, such as the ones that
run along the SPPL/Tesoro property line. SPPL should participate in
the Technical Committee ' s investigations.
TLL:tll
