The Report summarizes the results
of the seven monitoring wells sampled during the fourth quarter groundwater monitoring event and the
annual groundwater monitoring results for 2000.
We have the following comments on the Report:
1. The Report states "a summary of the combined annual groundwater monitoring data for 2000"is
provided. The Report does not include contour maps and contaminant concentration maps
containing all data obtained during 2000, discussion of long-term trends in the concentrations of
the contamination, or identification of any data gaps, based on the Report being submitted as a
combined fourth quarter and annual report.
2. KMEP has not defined the lateral extent of contamination east of monitoring well MW-1.
3. In Tables 1 and 2 of the Report, KMEP should remove the column for specific gravity since the
column provides no information.
4. In Tables 2 and 3, KMEP should substitute "ND"with the less than symbol accompanied with
the method reporting limit.
By 30 April 2001, please submit a work plan to delineate the lateral extent of groundwater
contamination and a schedule to implement proposed work.
