Shell Oil Company
P.O.Box 3105
Houston,Texas 77001
April 29, 1986 pcnqInl
MAY 7 1986
ENVIROMENTAL HEALTH
FERMIT/SERVICES
Ms. L. Cotulla
San Joaquin Local Health District
1601 East Hazelton Avenue
P. 0. Box 2009
Stockton, California 95201
Re: Shell Oil Distribution Facility
3515 Navy Drive, Rough & Ready Island
Stockton, California
Dear Ms. Cotulla:
In response to the product release reported March 27, 1986, and our
meetings of April 1 and April 3, 1986, Shell has installed a continuous
recovery system in monitoring well No. 1, installed additional downdip
monitoring wells and arranged for monitoring well water sample
analysis. The amount of product release is unknown, but estimated to be
less than 5000 gallons. The hydrocarbon recovered to date has been
approximately 800 gallons.
On April 22, 1986, I received Groundwater Technology drilling logs, soil
vapor and soil extract reports and they are attached for your
information. Also, Groundwater Technology has just completed developing
the wells and arrangements are now being made to analyze the water in
wells No. 3, 12, 13, 14, 15, 17, 20, 21 and 22. The water analysis will
assist us in determining the necessary action to be taken to further
implement the cleanup and approximate cost.
The attached well location map is to replace any maps you may have and
will be the new well numbering system. All records have been corrected
to correspond with the maps numbering system.
Very
//truly yours,
L J J.
