The soil boring advancement and groundwater
monitoring well installation is scheduled to be completed on September 28, 2000. Your comments will
be incorporated and the report will be prepared in accordance with Attachment 1 of your letter,Items to
be Included in a Site Assessment Report. It is anticipated that the report will then be submitted six weeks
upon field work completion(November 13, 2000).
In addition, in your letter dated June 8, 2000,you requested that the soil vapor extraction system be
restarted and that Well MW-13 be connected to the groundwater extraction system. A start-up schedule
for the SVE and hooking up Well MW-13 to the GWE was proposed for August 30, 2000. Due
maintenance issues relating to the existing ThermTech VAC25, it was decided to substitute an alternative
SVE unit(a VR Systems, V-3). The unit will be installed complete with propane by August 30, 2000,
although will not be started up due to the San Joaquin Valley Air Air Pollution Control District requiring
a new permit rather than a modification of the old. The permit is currently being reviewed by the air
district. Start-up is anticipated within three weeks upon acquiring the permit.
The pneumatic pump, controller and totalizer has been installed on Well MW-13 and groundwater
extraction will be implemented beginning on August 31, 2000.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact me at your convenience at(650) 551-0112.
Sincerely,
Toxi ern management Systems,Inc.
L-
Ross Tinline, R.G.
Senior Geologist
