The California Regional Water Quality Control Board, Central Valley Region <br /> (RWQCB)recently requested that Shell perform additional offsite groundwater characterization, south <br /> of the Shell Plant, on US Navy property. <br /> SCOPE OF WORK <br /> Enclosed please find a copy of the Plume Characterization Work Plan, Shell Oil Distribution Plant, <br /> Stockton, California dated July 13, 1992. The Work Plan describes the proposed scope of work in <br /> detail,which involves collection of hydropunch groundwater samples to be followed by installation of <br /> four shallow groundwater monitoring wells. Also enclosed is a copy of a letter from Mr. Philip Isorena <br /> of the RWQCB dated July 28, 1992 approving the Work Plan. We have previously transmitted a copy <br /> of the Site Safety Plan for environmental work at the Shell Stockton Plant to your office. <br /> Enclosed is an application for a well drilling permit(in triplicate), along with a check for$178 for well <br /> installation on the US Navy and Shell parcels. <br /> Mr. Chuck B. Kolesar is the Shell Engineer for the Stockton Plant. He can be contacted care of Shell <br /> Oil Company, 511 N. Brookhurst Street, P.O. Box 4848, Anaheim, California 92803.
