Box 5004 VVIr I ,1 iVT N,��LTy <br /> San Ramon, California 94583-0804 <br /> Subject: Request for Property Access to Conduct Field Activities at Chevron otattioAn No. -6171, Lincoln Center, Stockton, California <br /> Dear Mr. Cochran: <br /> On behalf of the Lincoln Center Environmental Remediation Trust ("the Trust"), LFR <br /> Levine •Fricke (LFR) is requesting access to conduct field activities at Chevron Station No. 9- <br /> 6171, located at 6633 Pacific Avenue in Stockton, California ("the subject property"). This work <br /> is a part of the Phase III Interim Remedial Action, and will be conducted in accordance with the <br /> terms and conditions of the "Lincoln Center Site Environmental Access Agreement for Chevron <br /> Station Property, 6633 Pacific Avenue, Stockton, California." The work is described in the <br /> "Proposed Phase III Interim Remedial Action Detailed Plan, Lincoln Center, Stockton, <br /> California," dated April 2, 2001 ("the Phase III IRA Detailed Plan")- <br /> As described in detail in the Phase III IRA Detailed Plan, this phase of the IRA includes expanding <br /> the existing Groundwater Extraction and Treatment System (GWETS) by installing additional 8- <br /> zone groundwater extraction wells and piezometers along the downgradient boundary of Lincoln <br /> Center. <br /> Field activities planned at the Chevron Station No. 9-6171 include installation of a B-zone <br /> groundwater extraction well (GEW-22B; Figure 1) and a B-zone piezometer (PZ-220B; Figure 1). <br /> Field equipment for the well and piezometer installations will consist of a mud-rotary drilling rig, <br /> shaker trailer, and support vehicles. The work space will be approximately 30 by 60 feet, and will <br /> he cordoned off during drilling activities to prohibit access by unauthorized personnel. <br /> Mr. Donald T. Bradshaw, Site Project Manager, oversees all aspects of the construction at the <br /> Lincoln Center site, and can be contacted at (510) 596-9559. Mr. Peter D. Weiler, Senior Project <br /> Hydrogeologist, is responsible for supervising field personnel during the Phase III IRA well <br /> installations and can be contacted at (510) 596-9519. <br /> The schedule for the drilling and well installation activities is dependent upon progress made <br /> during the Phase III IRA, but is likely to begin during the third week of October 2001. Drilling <br /> and well installation activities will require approximately two weeks to complete.
