(ERM) has prepared this summary
of proposed repair work at the Lincoln Center(Site), located in Stockton,California (Figure 1).
Site Background
Lincoln Center is a 30-acre commercial property bounded to the west by Gettysburg Place,to the east by Pacific Avenue,
to the south by Douglas Avenue,and to the north by Lincoln Elementary School.
Past dry-cleaning and waste-handling practices impacted the soil and groundwater beneath the site. In 1984,
groundwater contamination was detected in a municipal supply well located along the western edge of the site. Soil and
groundwater investigations assessed the nature and extent of contamination at the site.
Proposed Work at Site
The following work is proposed for the Site:
• Replace well boxes for wells MW-001A,-002A,-003A,-111A,-2038,and-204B (See Figure 2 for well locations);
• Place new padlocks on 20 wells;and,
• Replace faulty expansion type well caps on eight wells.
Permits from the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department(SJCEHD)are required for the replacement of
the boxes for wells MW-001A,-002A,-003A,-111A,-203B, and-204B.The permits will be obtained prior to commencing
the repair work at the Site.
On behalf of the Trust, ERM respectfully requests your permission to proceed with this work.
If you have any questions or comments please let me know.
1
