Due
to the technical nature of these requirements , the District has
requested the assistance of the San Joaquin County Department of
Public Works (County) in completing this project.
The District plans to proceed with the destruction of the wells
as required by the Board. Destruction will be accomplished by
perforating the casings and then pressure grouting the
formations . This method will assure the integrity of the
existing barrier formations present and will prevent migration of
the pollutants to unpolluted regions .
The District will be assisted by the County and by Brown and
Caldwell Consultants , who will provide the expertise for the
review of the well logs and the preparation of the technical
specifications relating to the destruction of the wells by
pressure grouting. Following is the District ' s proposed Work
Plan to accomplish the destruction of the wells , which will be
performed under public contract.
