LEEDSHILL•HERKENHOFF, INC.
2.3 Wells Located Within a Mile of Lincoln Village Center
Collected well data indicated the existence of forty-two wells located
within a one-mile radius of LVC. The majority of these wells (22) are
' domestic wells clustered north of LVC around Edan Avenue and Willora Road.
Several municipal supply wells are also located within the one-mile radius,
' and are owned and operated by California Water Service (2 wells) , City of
Stockton (6 wells) , and San Joaquin County Public Works, which includes
Lincoln Village Maintenance District (5 wells) , and Colonial Heights Main-
tenance District (1 well ) . Figure 2.2 shows the location of these wells in
relation to LVC, and Table 2.1 lists each well and the available construc-
tion and water quality data.
' During the past few years, thirty-two wells within the one-mile radius of
' LVC are known to have been sampled and analyzed for either purgeable halo-
carbons (EPA Method 601) and/or purgeable aromatics (EPA Method 602) , or
volatile organic chemicals (VOC) . Neither PCE nor TCE was detected in
' samples from twenty-one of the thirty-two tested wells. Nine of the eleven
wells in which PCE and/or TCE was detected are domestic wells located along
Edan Avenue and only two of these wells exceed the DOHS state action level .
' Nine other domestic wells, located between LVC and Edan Avenue on Willora
Road, were all sampled, analyzed according to EPA Method 601 and/or 602, and
neither PCE nor TCE was detected, indicating that the Edan Avenue contamina-
tion is entirely independent of the situation at LVC. Only Lincoln Village
Maintenance District (LVMD) wells #1 and #6 were found to contain concentra-
tions of PCE and/or TCE.
' 2.4 Wells Adjacent to Lincoln Village Center
There are three municipal supply wells located adjacent to the western
property boundary of LVC. These wells are owned, operated, and maintained
by the San Joaquin County Public Works Department (LVMD #1, #2, and #6) .
Figure 2.3 presents the location of these wells with respect to the layout
' of LVC.
' 2-3
1
