CALIFORNIA REGIONAL WATER QUALITY CONTROL BOARD <br /> CENTRAL VALLEY REGION <br /> 3443 Routier Rd., Suite A <br /> Sacramento,California 95827 <br /> NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING <br /> and <br /> Notice of Application for Waste Discharge Requirements <br /> (National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System) <br /> for <br /> SETTLING DRY CLEANING DEFENDANTS <br /> LINCOLN VILLAGE CENTER <br /> GROUNDWATER TREATMENT SYSTEM <br /> SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY <br /> The Settling Dry Cleaning Defendants, as defined by Consent Decree,proposes to discharge waste <br /> from a groundwater treatment system designed to remove volatile organic compounds from <br /> groundwater collected during ongoing investigation,remediation, and monitoring activities. The <br /> groundwater treatment system is designed to treat 300 gpm(430,000 gpd) of extracted groundwater. <br /> About 200 gpm(290,000 gpd)will be discharged to a storm drain in the City of Stockton,tributary <br /> to Fourteen Mile Slough, and then the San Joaquin River. <br /> A public hearing conceming this matter will be held: <br /> DATE: Friday, 17 April 1998 <br /> TIME: 9:00 a.m. <br /> PLACE: Air Resources Board <br /> Hearing Room,Lower Level <br /> 2020 L Street <br /> Sacramento,California <br /> Persons wishing to comment on or object to the proposed requirements are invited to submit same in <br /> writing to the Regional Board no later than 6 March 1998. All comments or objections received by <br /> this date will be considered in the draft waste discharge requirements. <br /> Additional pertinent information may be received by the Board,upon the request of any interested <br /> person at the meeting. After considering comments or objections, the Board may issue waste <br /> discharge requirements. Any action of the Board may be appealed to the State Water Resources <br /> Control Board within 30 days of the action. <br /> Anyone having questions on these requirements should contact the project representative, Kit Custis, <br /> at(916) 255-3077.
