This report documents the results of the additional cone
penetration testing and push-in-polyvinyl chloride piezometer (CPT/PIPP) testing conducted in
September and October 1998. The report also proposes to construct monitoring wells in the A- and B-
zone aquifers at locations 21, 22 and 23 based on the results of the additional CPT/PIPP testing.
We hereby accept the report and approve the proposed additional monitoring wells with one condition:
The upgradient B-zone monitoring well proposed at location 21 shall be moved further east to the area of
CPT 248. This is needed so that the upgradient B-zone monitoring well is closer to the western non-
detection boundary. Please include the report on the installation and sampling of the additional
monitoring wells in the 15 February 1999 Annual Monitoring Report. If you have any questions, you
may call me at (916) 255>i977 or Wendy Wyels at (916) 255-3080.
HIT CUSTIS
Associate Engineering Geologist
cc: San Joaquin County Environmental Health, Stockton
Mr. A.J.
