f
Y
Joseph Mello, Jr.
February 2,2001
Page 3
estimates were calculated using reasonably conservative assumptions and hypothetical exposure
scenarios. For example, there is no residential population living on the Lincoln Center property,
and residents in the area do not use groundwater for domestic purposes.
Conclusion
The approach used to evaluate human health risks as a result of exposure to contaminants
detected on the Lincoln Center property incorporates reasonable conservatism. After reviewing
the health risk assessment, we are satisfied with the correctness of the risk estimate calculations.
As long as the current land use does not change and remedial efforts continue in the form of the
SVETS system, human health risks would not be expected to be higher than those estimated.
Thank you for the opportunity to comment on the risk assessment report. If you have any
questions,please contact me at (916) 322-8364.
