MW-103A has not been sampled since July 2010 due
to the well having been paved over during street resurfacing work. Based on discussions with
the San Joaquin county Public Works and Environmental Health Departments, an
encroachment permit is required to regain access to MW-103A.
MW-103A has not contained detectable concentrations of tetrachloroethylene (PCE) or its
degradation products since 2002. Also, MW-103A does not serve to define the lateral or
vertical extent of the plume. Central Valley Water Board staff concurs with the Trust that MW-
103A can be abandoned without losing valuable future monitoring data.
Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns regarding this letter at 916.464.4682 or
rcervantes(a-)waterboards.ca.gov.
Roberto Cervantes, PE
Site Cleanup Program
c: Mike Infurna, San Joaquin County Environmental Health
California Environmental Protection Agency
Co Recycled Paper
