LFR Inc.
the results are above the CHHSL, then the data will be evaluated using the Johnson and
Ettinger human health assessment model. Site-specific soil property and groundwater
concentration data will be included to assess whether the Hazardous Substance
concentrations remaining in soil gas potentially pose a risk to either underlying
groundwater or indoor air. Based on results from the Johnson and Ettinger model, a
determination will be made to either terminate or continue SVETS operation.
3.2 Ozone Sparging
The groundwater sparging system was installed to more rapidly remediate higher
groundwater concentrations present in shallow groundwater within the Historical
Source Area. Pre- and post-system shutdown data will be assessed to determine whether
significant rebound occurred during the non-operational period. If all groundwater
concentrations are below 100 pg/L and no significant rebound of Hazardous Substance
concentrations in groundwater is apparent, a recommendation will be made to terminate
operation of the sparge system.
4.0 REPORTING
LFR will provide a final report documenting all data collection and methods. The
report will include data summary tables and figures of both soil gas and groundwater.
Based on the findings of the Phase II and Phase IV IRA evaluations, recommendations
to terminate operations of either or both systems may be made.
pimp 1 =-PhII IV_IRA-Aug09-06750.dm:deh page
