j
Harding Lawson Associates
+ 4.0 LITERATURE REVIEW
t
HLA conducted a literature review and records search to ascertain local
hydrogeologic conditions. Documents reviewed included published and unpublished
geologic and hydrogeologic literature for the site vicinity as well as the files of local and
state agencies for cases of identified soil or groundwater contamination in the site
+ vicinity, as these reports generally contain detailed descriptions of geologic and
groundwater conditions. The latter documents included case files for properties with
environmental problem's within 0.5 mile of the site available at the Regional Water
Quality Control Board (RWQCB). These reports are listed in Section 9. Hydrogeologic
information derived from these reports is presented in Section 6.2.
After reviewing the LF report it was not clear whether petroleum hydrocarbon-
bearing soils from underneath the former dispenser were removed or buried in-place;
therefore HLA personnel interviewed LF staff to obtain this information. During a .
j., telephone interview on May 29, 1991, Ms. Elizabeth Nixon, who was the LF
representative during the tank removal, indicated thaf no excavation of petroleum
hydrocarbon=bearing soils was conducted beneath the:dispenser
+ 4
lit' I
w
T19461-H 9 of 20
i
fi
