3- issue the destruction permit.
4- generate those letters in there sometime too.
5-eventually issue the installation permit (send that application and $89 fee)
From: Richard Vogl [maiIto:ravgeohydrologic@verizon.net]
Sent: Tuesday, November 06, 2007 12:53 PM
To: Mike Infurna [EH]
Cc: 'Chris Panaitescu'; 'Larry Higinbotham'; 'George Chambers'
Subject: RE: Best California Gas Ltd SS # 172, 7647 Pacific Ave, Stockton,CA 95207
Mike:
The conductor casings are 12" diameter and they extend to a depth of 20 feet below grade. All three of the
proposed wells to be abandoned have these 12" conductor casings. MW-12, single 2" diameter well was
installed with 8.25" OD auger inside the conductor, MW-11/VW-3 and VW-2-S/VW-2-D were installed with
10.5" diameter OD auger. There should be no problem drilling out MW-12 and staying on it to total depth
and with the other two wells the 20 feet of conductor casing should guide the auger downward keeping it
straight on the wells as the bit chops them up and the cuttings are sent up the borehole. We will try to get
the two wells to feed into the center of the hollow stem auger as we drill them out to TD if possible, and
then remove the augers with the casing inside after drilling to the TD when the augers are pulled. This may
be possible since the wells appear to have about a two inch gap between them. See attached photo. Our
only other choice would be to pressure grout them in-place and drill out the top 20 feet after grouted.
Please let me know which way you would prefer us to do the abandonment.
I will send you the one page Executive Summary later today or early tomorrow for your review and
comment.
Sincerely,
Richard Vogl, PG, CHG, CEG
Principal Hydrogeologist
GeoHydrologic Consultants, Inc
5912 Bolsa Avenue, Suite 200
Huntington Beach, CA 92649
Phone (714) 898-5727
Fax (714) 898-5701
Cell (714) 615-0585
http://www.geohydrolog ic.com
From: Mike Infurna [EH] [mai Ito:MInfurna@sjcehd.com]
Sent: Monday, November 05, 2007 4:32 PM
To: ravgeohydrologic@verizon.net
Subject: RE: Best California Gas Ltd SS # 172, 7647 Pacific Ave, Stockton, CA 95207
1 haven't has time to review any of this or what was previously sent.
I need to know the following:
-the nested wells, put in with 10" HSA...there are conductor casings for these? steel? I'll need
dimensions. You planning on just putting the HSA inside the cc and drill away? how will you stay on
centered/in the original borehole so you can go to TD on the deep casing with the upper -20 feet casing
bored out?
11/16/2007
