(Thrifty) is
submitting this letter to notify the City of Stockton (City) of its intent to resume
discharge of treated groundwater into the City sewer system at the above-referenced
Thrifty site in Stockton, California. The groundwater discharge will be conducted
following the conditions specified in the City's Groundwater Discharge Permit dated July
29, 2005.
The groundwater treatment system will utilize four 1,000-pound carbon canisters to treat
the groundwater prior to its discharge to the sewer system. The layout of the groundwater
treatment equipment within the treatment compound is shown in Figure 1. To maximize
the effectiveness of the treatment operations, Thrifty requests that the Discharge Permit
limits of 4 gallons per minute (gpm) and 5,760 gallons per day (gpd) be increased to 10
gpm and 14,400 gpd, respectively.
If you have any questions or comments, please contact Chris Panaitescu at (562) 921-
3581, Ext. 390, or Larry Higinbotham at Ext. 325.
Sincerely,
15-9-7
Chris Panaitescu Larry Higinbotham, R.G.
