July 14, 2010
San Joaquin County Environmental Health comments to the City of Stockton Application
referral, P10-166, 7647 Pacific Avenue, Stockton.
The proposed demolition of the current building at this location includes the
destruction/removal of multiple remediation wells that were installed at this location.
The EHD has determined that these existing wells are needed for the investigation and
remediation of the underground storage tank (UST) release that has occurred at this site.
The EHD can approve the City application referral with the conditions that removal of
these existing wells is done under the EHD approval of a work plan submitted by the
landowner's representative. An EHD Well Permit is required for any/all well
destructions and shall be submitted to the EHD within 30-days of the new
building/business opening to the public. Additionally, the EHD will determine the need
and location of any/all replacement wells that will be installed within 60 days of the
building/business opening.
Thank you,
Michael Infurna, Senior REHS
San Joaquin County EHD.
(209) 468-3454.
