Station #172 <br /> Page3 <br /> TPH-g by EPA method 8015, and BTEX/MTBE by EPA method 8021B A copy of the influent, <br /> effluent, and well-head vapor sample laboratory analytical results are presented in Appendix D <br /> A historical summary of hydrocarbons removed by vapor extraction is presented in Table 3 The <br /> Field Status Reports are included in Appendix C <br /> Groundwater Treatment System <br /> The groundwater treatment system was started in conjunction with the vapor treatment system on <br /> April 26, 2001, and the flow meter started at zero Presently, the remediation system is connected <br /> to groundwater wells MW-10 and MW-11 Two down-well pneumatic pumps (one in each well), <br /> draw water into a 150 gallon polyvinyl tank which then transfers the water through two (2) one <br /> thousand pound canisters with activated carbon <br /> During this reporting period, the groundwater extraction system treated and discharged <br /> approximately 1,861 gallons as of March 28, 2002 for a total of 78,932 gallons The groundwater <br /> remediation system influent, intermediate, and effluent streams were sampled on January 24, and <br /> February 6, 2002 for TPH-g by EPA method 8015, BTEX/MTBE by EPA method 8021B <br /> • Groundwater samples were collected from the inlet ports of the system from wells MW-10 and MW- <br /> 11 on February 6, 2002 Field status reports are presented in Appendix C, and laboratory analytical <br /> results for the groundwater samples are included in Appendix E Historical groundwater system <br /> operations are reported in Table 4 <br /> The groundwater extraction system was non-operation from January 3, 2002 through January 22, <br /> 2002 for carbon change out, from January 31 to February 1, 2002 because the knock out switch shut <br /> down, and from February 6 through March 28, 2002 for a second carbon change out The <br /> groundwater system operated for a total of 15 days this quarter <br /> Summary and Recommendations <br /> The soil vapor extraction was started on April 26, 2001, and groundwater extraction was started on <br /> April 26, 2001 A total of 28,649 pounds of hydrocarbons have been destroyed by the vapor <br /> extraction system, and 78,932 gallons of groundwater have been treated by the groundwater system <br /> The groundwater extraction system was non-operations for a total of 75 days this quarter, because <br /> of two separate carbon change outs and a knock out switch problem <br /> Thrifty will continue quarterly groundwater monitoring, gauging,purging and sampling of all <br /> groundwater monitoring wells, and operation of the remediation system <br />
